     Background

I have been working in the field since 2010.  In the beginning, I started out working at an at risk youth shelter helping youth who have had issues with the law, were in between foster homes, had been abused and taken out of their homes by child protective services, and a host of other issues.  It was an incredible experience and I learned a lot.  From there, I ended up getting a job in a pre-school, did my practicum for graduate school in an elementary school and also worked as a school counselor briefly in a high school.  After I graduated from Marymount University with a masters in counseling, I started working at The Better Brain Center as a neurofeedback technician while also providing counseling to those in need.  I was able to obtain my professional counselor license during this time and then moved into a position of being one of the neurotherapists at The Better Brain Center (BBC).  Since working as a neurofeedback therapist, I have become certified as a trauma professional and also became board certified in neurofeedback.  During my time at The Better Brain Center, I was able to work with a variety of clientele.  I gained experience working with couples, vets and those suffering from PTSD, people with extreme anxiety, depression, OCD, migrainers, those suffering from insomnia, etc.  After working at The Better Brain Center for 5 years, I decided to move into a practice more my own.  At Conversations Fairfax, I am excited to be working alongside some very capable, caring, and empathic counselors.  I love what I do, and I have learned a lot through my education, experience, and training.
